Every night when I went to sleep, I imagined there was a monster under my bed. I think I must have watched a movie or something that led me to have those thoughts. To be sincere, I ‘ve never seen anything, but when I turned the lights off and went to bed, quickly those thoughts would come to my mind:
“What if there is a monster under my bed waiting to come out and scare me?”
At that moment, fear would take over me and all I could do was to get under the duvet and remain still, hoping not to hear anything.
One night, when I was hiding under the duvet, my fear made me wonder what would happen if I started to hear noises.
“Oh my God!” I started thinking and thinking…
Suddenly, I heard noises! And guess what??? They were coming from under my bed.
“Oh no! I’m so scared that now I can hear noises!”
“Mummyyyy!” I screamed from my bed without moving a muscle!
She came running. “What happened?” She asked.
“There is something under my bed! I can hear it.”
My mother laughed and said, “It’s true, there’s something under your bed. It’s Joe (my little puppy) chewing on a bone!”
Can you see what fear does? Among other things, fear makes us always think that something bad will happen.
After that day, the next night when I went to sleep, I got the courage to look under my bed. That’s it! There was no monster under it. It was all a result of fear in me. When I faced it, nothing bothered me anymore.
Do the same. Face your fears. You will soon realise that that big monster is in fact a little puppy!
Kisses and until next week.
